Park Run Record Christmas Update 25th December 2024 – Australia

Record-Breaking Achievements for Australia's Parkruns

This week has seen incredible performances from standout athletes in the Australian parkrun community!

This Week's Course Records Broken

  • Kieren Tall: 15 minutes and 9 seconds at Curl Curl Parkrun, breaking the previous record set by Logan Campbell by 9 seconds. Though surrendering his crown, Logan finished 2nd with a cracking time of 15 minutes and 25 seconds. We'll be watching out for Logan in the coming weeks to take that record back. Kieren Tall, a local legend living just around the corner from Curl Curl Parkrun, is making a great comeback after near career-ending injuries. Kieren is an inspiration, and during my own training, I took to the St Ives Showground loop that Kieren bests in his training from way back when to improve my own 5k speed.
  • Andison Mole: 16 minutes and 58 seconds at Chelsea Bicentennial Parkrun, shaving 3 seconds off the previous record.
  • Mia Gray: 18 minutes flat at Inverloch Parkrun, beating the prior record by 4 seconds.
  • Alexandra Griffin: 18 minutes and 58 seconds taking an astonishing 58 seconds off the previous parkrun South Beach Recreation Reserve course record.

Congratulations to all the athletes for their record-breaking feats and outstanding contributions to the parkrun community!

These achievements highlight the exceptional talent and dedication within our parkrun community. Keep pushing those boundaries and striving for personal bests! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️💪
